See what Medvo writes for you
You tell your story once. Medvo turns it into a clinical-language letter, an appointment checklist, and backup lines for if you’re dismissed. Here are real examples of what that looks like — written to request evaluation, never to diagnose.
ExampleFainting & racing heart on standing
Two years of near-fainting and a heart rate over 120 on standing, told it was “just anxiety.”
The letter
Dear Dr. ____,
I'm writing so we can use our appointment time well. For about two years I've had episodes where my heart races and pounds — often over 120 beats per minute — within minutes of standing, along with lightheadedness and, at times, near-fainting. I also have persistent fatigue that limits my work and daily tasks. These symptoms are consistent and reproducible when I move from sitting or lying to standing.
I'd like us to evaluate whether an autonomic or cardiovascular cause could explain this pattern. Specifically, I'm requesting orthostatic vital signs (heart rate and blood pressure lying and standing) today, and — if appropriate — a referral to cardiology or an autonomic specialist and consideration of tilt-table testing. I want this properly assessed rather than attributed to anxiety without testing.
Thank you for looking into this with me.
Appointment checklist
- ✓Ask for orthostatic vital signs (HR + BP lying and standing) during the visit
- ✓Request a referral to cardiology or an autonomic specialist if indicated
- ✓Ask whether tilt-table testing is appropriate
- ✓Request that your reported symptoms and the findings are documented in your chart
If you’re dismissed
- “I understand anxiety can cause some of these symptoms. I'd still like the orthostatic vitals measured today so we have objective data.”
- “Could you note in my chart that I requested this evaluation and the outcome?”
ExampleSevere pelvic pain
Years of cyclical pain that stops daily life, not controlled by over-the-counter medication.
The letter
Dear Dr. ____,
I'd like to use our appointment to talk about pelvic pain I've been managing for several years. I have severe, cyclical pain that regularly keeps me from work, pain during or after intercourse, and heavy periods. Over-the-counter medication hasn't controlled it, and the pain has been getting worse.
I'm asking that we evaluate possible gynecological causes of this pain, including whether endometriosis should be considered and ruled in or out. I'd like to discuss a referral to gynecology, appropriate imaging such as a pelvic ultrasound, and next steps for evaluation. My goal is to have this pain taken seriously and investigated, not managed with pain relief alone.
Thank you for your help.
Appointment checklist
- ✓Ask for a referral to gynecology
- ✓Request a pelvic ultrasound or other appropriate imaging
- ✓Ask what would be needed to evaluate for endometriosis
- ✓Request documentation of your pain history and its impact on daily life
If you’re dismissed
- “Painful periods are common, but this level of pain is affecting my daily life. I'd like it evaluated, not just medicated.”
- “Please document that I requested a gynecology referral today.”
ExampleSymptoms that never left after COVID
Fatigue, brain fog, breathlessness and a racing heart that started with an infection and haven't resolved.
The letter
Dear Dr. ____,
Since a COVID-19 infection several months ago, I've had symptoms that haven't resolved: persistent fatigue that worsens after activity, brain fog affecting my memory and concentration, shortness of breath, and a racing heart. These are new for me since the infection and are affecting my ability to work and function.
I'd like us to evaluate these post-viral symptoms and consider whether a referral to a post-COVID / long-COVID clinic is appropriate. I'm also asking about workup relevant to what I'm describing — for example cardiac and pulmonary evaluation — and documentation of the timeline linking these symptoms to my infection.
I appreciate your help in taking this seriously.
Appointment checklist
- ✓Ask about a referral to a post-COVID / long-COVID clinic
- ✓Request evaluation relevant to your symptoms (e.g. cardiac, pulmonary)
- ✓Ask that the timeline from infection to symptoms be documented
- ✓Request documentation of the impact on your work and daily life
If you’re dismissed
- “These symptoms are new since my infection and haven't improved. I'd like them evaluated as possible long COVID.”
- “Could you document the timeline and that I requested a referral?”
