Prepare for a hypereosinophilic syndrome evaluation

Persistent high eosinophils with organ damage (heart, lungs, nerves, skin) are often missed or attributed to allergies alone. Medvo helps you document the eosinophilia and organ involvement and request hematology referral — framed as evaluation, never diagnosis.

Symptoms patients describe

  • · Fatigue, skin rashes, or breathing issues with known high eosinophils
  • · Heart problems (endomyocarditis), neuropathy, or GI symptoms
  • · Unexplained weight loss or blood clots

Tests & referrals to request

Framed as evaluation — your clinician decides what is appropriate.

  • · Complete blood count with differential (persistent eosinophilia >1500)
  • · Referral to hematologist; organ imaging and biopsy as indicated
  • · Discussion of steroids, hydroxyurea, or targeted therapies (e.g., imatinib) if clonal

If you've been dismissed

  • · Eosinophilia ignored or called 'allergic' without organ evaluation
  • · No workup for hypereosinophilic syndrome despite organ damage
