Prepare for an autoimmune inner ear disease evaluation
Progressive or fluctuating hearing loss, tinnitus, and vertigo are often attributed to Meniere's, aging, or viral without autoimmune consideration. Medvo helps you track the rapid progression and request serology and ENT referral — framed as evaluation, never diagnosis.
Symptoms patients describe
- · Rapid hearing loss in one or both ears over weeks to months
- · Tinnitus, aural fullness, and vertigo episodes
- · History of other autoimmune conditions or recent viral illness
Tests & referrals to request
Framed as evaluation — your clinician decides what is appropriate.
- · Audiometry showing progressive sensorineural loss
- · Autoimmune workup (ANA, ESR, etc.) and referral to otolaryngologist
- · Discussion of steroids or other immunosuppression if indicated
If you've been dismissed
- · Hearing loss dismissed as 'age-related' or 'noise-induced' despite rapid course
- · No systemic evaluation despite bilateral or fluctuating symptoms
