Prepare for an antiphospholipid syndrome evaluation
Recurrent clots, miscarriages, and livedo reticularis are often not recognized as one syndrome. Medvo helps document thrombotic and obstetric events and request full antiphospholipid antibody panel.
Symptoms patients describe
- · Unexplained DVT, PE, stroke, or heart attack at young age
- · Recurrent miscarriages, stillbirth, or severe preeclampsia
- · Livedo reticularis, heart valve vegetations, low platelets
Tests & referrals to request
Framed as evaluation — your clinician decides what is appropriate.
- · Lupus anticoagulant, anticardiolipin IgG/IgM, anti-β2-glycoprotein I antibodies (repeat if positive)
- · Referral to hematologist or rheumatologist experienced in APS
- · Discussion of anticoagulation, aspirin, and pregnancy planning
If you've been dismissed
- · Clots called 'bad luck' or blamed on birth control only
- · Pregnancy losses never investigated for autoimmune cause
